Elisa was born on April 27,1998. She is a sophomore at High School for Media and Communications. She loves to draw and write in her journal on her free time. She lives in the Bronx with her 5 siblings. She is Caribbean American. Her mother is from St. Thomas and her father is from Antigua.

I have always been fascinated with photography before the popularity of selfies. I was always behind the camera and not in front of it. Nowadays I can’t take enough of pictures of my friends and scenery in my neighborhood. Before coming to NYU to study photography, I used the camera in my phone and ipad, which are both automatic and offer no options for adjustments. Since then, I have learned how to make adjustments to a DSLR to accommodate for different lighting situations to improve my pictures. I feel more and more like a confident photographer as I go through this program. I’m beginning to look at my photographs as works of art and not just electronic photographs that I look at in digital format.
