Our system of education does not allow an individual to be seen as a person but rather just as a number. Each of the students’ visibility as an individual is eclipsed by his/her membership in a system that highly values numbers over everything. In this series I examine the extent of the problem first hand and examine the effects of the system on students. We are trained to take tests and accomplish that one number. At the end of the day should that be the only thing that matters? We are not robots. We are each our own person.
