Naomi Chavez currently lives in Hell’s Kitchen with her mom, twin sister, and younger brother. She is a junior at Brooklyn Technical High School, who is in the architecture major and plays the viola. She has been interested in photography for years but never had access to a camera other than the one on her iPhone. After attending the future filmmakers class during her sophomore year, she decided to explore photography more in depth. Besides photography, Naomi enjoys spending her time playing/listening to music and hanging out with her friends and family.
What is it to love and what does love look like? In this project, I examine the different dynamics of love, comparing the romantic relationships of multiple couples and how they express their affection. I found subjects from all around the city (at school, in Times Square, on the rooftop of s museum) and admired the way they naturally enjoyed each other’s company. Most of the photographs in this series were intentionally candid in an attempt to capture the natural expressions of these couples.
